Pages & page settings
Each page of your site is one file in Studio's Content tab. The file's name sets the page's address.
How file names become addresses
| File in Content | Page address |
|---|---|
index | / (your home page) |
about | /about |
pricing | /pricing |
services folder → index | /services |
services folder → web-design | /services/web-design |
Name files the way you want the address to read: lowercase, with hyphens between words, such as thank-you rather than Thank You.
Create a page
Choose where it goes
In Content, open the folder where the page should live. For most sites, that's the top level, next to index.
Click New file
Click New file and enter a file name, such as about. Studio creates the page and opens it.
Fill in Page Settings
Give the page a Title and a Description (see Page settings below).
Add blocks
Type / in the page body to add blocks. See Working with blocks.
Link to it
New pages don't appear in your header menu automatically. Add the page to Navigation in your site settings, or link to it from a button. See Navigation.
Folders
Use New folder to group related pages. The folder name becomes part of the address: a page named pricing inside a plans folder lives at /plans/pricing. Put a file named index inside a folder to create a page at the folder's own address (/plans).
Most Landing Pages and Microsites don't need folders.
Rename, duplicate, delete, and revert
Every file has an actions menu (Open actions):
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Rename | Changes the file name, and with it the page's address. Update any links that point to the old address. |
| Duplicate | Makes a copy with all blocks and settings. |
| Delete | Removes the page. |
| Revert changes | Discards all of your unpublished changes to this file, back to its last published version. |
Studio asks you to click a second time to confirm actions like delete ("Click again to delete"). Renames and deletes take effect like any other change: they're listed in Review, and nothing changes on your live site until you publish.
index removes your home page. If you want a different page as your home page, copy its blocks into index instead.Page settings
Page Settings, at the top of every page, controls that page only.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Title | The page's name in the browser tab and in search results. If left empty, your site name is used. |
| Description | The summary search engines and social networks show under your link. Aim for one or two sentences. If left empty, your site description is used. |
| Hide header | Removes the site header (logo, menu, header button) from this page. |
| Hide footer | Removes the site footer (copyright, footer links, social icons) from this page. |
| Page background | A background color, and optionally a text color, for the whole page, edge to edge. Leave empty to follow your site's theme. See Page backgrounds. |
| Heading font / Body font | Overrides your site-wide fonts for this page only. |
| Custom heading font name / Custom body font name | Uses your own brand font on this page. Pair it with the matching font source. See Brand fonts. |
| Custom heading font source / Custom body font source | The font file (from Media) or font link for the custom font above. |
About the Draft setting
Page Settings may also show a Draft checkbox. Draft doesn't currently hide a page. A page marked as a draft still goes live when you publish your site. To keep a page off your live site, delete it or don't publish until it's ready. To keep visitors from finding it in the meantime, don't link to it.
How settings layer
Some settings exist at three levels. The most specific one wins:
| Level | Where you set it | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Site | Settings → site | Every page |
| Page | Page Settings | This page only |
| Block | The block's props (fonts and styling) | That block only |
For example, set your fonts once in site settings, give a campaign page a different heading font in its Page Settings, and give one hero on that page a third font.
